Do you ever pray for something and then find yourself shocked when God actually responds? It happens to me all the time. I find myself blown away when I see Him move in my life…especially when answers come quickly. It’s pretty silly. He tells us he WILL answer. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you…(Matthew 7:7)” Yet somehow, I find myself flabbergasted that He…the God of all creation…responds to me. I’m not sure if it’s lack of faith or just pure God-awe. But whatever it is, answered prayer always feels like a little gift just for me. Yesterday one of those moments happened. I opened my email and found this…

You see, for the last week or so, I’ve been praying that God would really and TRULY light a fire in me. And that he would use me…and this site for His purposes. That the silly ramblings on Homespun Sprout wouldn’t be about me, but that it would be about what Good is doing THROUGH me…that readers would be encouraged to look for the beauty in the everyday things around them…that readers would see the value of community…and that I would be able to create a community where good things are shared and where people are inspired.

And then a few days ago, on a whim, I filled out an application to be a part of the book launch team for Jen Hatmaker’s new book, For the Love. The odds were not in my favor. THOUSANDS of people responded to her request for applicants. But guess what? I was selected. Coincidence? Maybe. But I don’t think so.

So I have no idea what the journey will bring. And I have no idea what my part in the big picture is yet. But I am thrilled to be a part of the launch team for For the Love

Ask. Seek. Knock. Friends, you never know what it will bring!
